Why visit Disneyland

Disneyland Paris sits just outside the French capital and brings together two theme parks, themed hotels, restaurants and a lively entertainment district. Children can meet favourite characters, ride classic attractions and watch parades, while adults enjoy the Parisian setting and the chance to add a city break. It suits families, groups of friends and first time Disney visitors.

Highlights of Disneyland

  • Disneyland Park: The original park, with Sleeping Beauty Castle, Fantasyland, Adventureland and Main Street, USA, plus classic rides and parades.
  • Walt Disney Studios Park: A second park themed around film and storytelling, with Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars areas and thrilling rides.
  • Disney Village: A dining and entertainment area between the parks and hotels, with restaurants, shops and evening shows.
  • Meeting the characters: Mickey, princesses and other favourites appear throughout the day in the parks, with set meeting spots and photo opportunities.
  • Paris city break: The centre of Paris is about 40 minutes away by train, making it easy to add the Eiffel Tower and museums.

Best time to visit Disneyland

Spring and autumn offer milder weather and generally shorter queues outside school holidays. Summer is warm but busy, and long evenings suit late shows. The Halloween season in autumn and the Christmas season in winter bring special decorations, parades and events. Weekdays are usually calmer than weekends, so a flexible plan helps.

Getting there from the UK

Eurostar from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord takes about 2 hours 20 minutes, then the RER A train runs to Marne la Vallee Chessy in around 40 minutes. Flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle take about 1 hour 15 minutes, followed by a short transfer or train to the resort.

Good to know

France uses the euro, and French is the main language, though English is widely spoken at the resort. Sockets are Type C and E at 230 volts. Pack comfortable shoes and rain layers. Always check the latest GOV.UK foreign travel advice for entry requirements before you book and travel.
