Why choose this trip
This nine night Japan holiday suits first time visitors who want the big names in one trip: Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, with a Mount Fuji day tour. You stay four nights in Tokyo at a 4* hotel, three nights in Kyoto at a traditional hotel and two nights in Osaka at a 4* hotel. Bullet train travel between cities and daily breakfast are included.
Best time to go
Spring, from late March to May, and autumn, from October to November, are popular for mild weather and cherry blossom or autumn colour. Summer is hot and humid, with a rainy spell in early summer, while winter is cold and clear, often giving the best chance of good Mount Fuji views.
Before you go
Pack comfortable walking shoes that slip on and off easily, light layers and a small day bag. Japan uses the yen and still relies on cash in many places. Plugs are two flat pins, so bring an adaptor for UK devices. Arrange travel insurance and carry some cash. Check the latest GOV.UK foreign travel advice for entry requirements.
