Best time to go
The western islands, including Phuket and Phi Phi, are usually at their best from November to April, with sunshine and calmer seas. May to October is the wetter season, with warm weather, showers and rougher seas that can affect ferries. Bangkok is hot all year, with the coolest weather from November to February.
Before you go
Pack light clothing, swimwear, reef-safe sun cream, insect repellent and a cover up for temples, where shoulders and knees should be covered. Thailand uses the baht, and plug sockets often accept UK style adaptors, so bring one. Arrange travel insurance that covers water activities.
